The High Tech Club boasts over 140 active members and is the second largest club at The Johnson School. In the past twelve months, the Club has become one of the most active campus organizations. The High Tech Club's members and officers are intimately involved in numerous on-campus initiatives.

Week in Silicon Valley - Every year the High Tech Club organizes a week long trip to the Silicon Valley. This year the week began with a panel discussion entitled, "Start-ups to IPO." Panel members included representatives from Wilson Sonsini, Netcentives, and the Woodside Fund (venture capital firm). During the next five days members interacted with executives and listened to presentations from the following companies: Inktomi, Sun Microsystems, Intuit, Hewlett Packard, Nortel, Intel and Cisco.

TechSmarts - This year the Club initiated TechSmarts - a monthly speaker series. Executives from external organizations like Netscape, American Express, Andersen Consulting and Microsoft have come to Cornell to educate our members about current technology issues facing their organizations and industries.

Brown-Bag TechTalk Series - The High Tech Club has leveraged the experience and intellect of the Johnson School community by creating TechTalk. TechTalk is a weekly event where individuals draw from their "lives before The Johnson School" and educate other club members during half hour, lunch-time teaching sessions. Topics have included wireless communication, HTML editing, and numerous other technology subjects.

Technology Curriculum - High Tech Club members have worked with The Johnson School deans and faculty to create and implement a new course curriculum called the E-Business Intensive. This intensive course load is in its trial run this spring and is receiving rave reviews from the participating students. Courses include eCommerce, Internet Marketing, Internet Start-ups, and e-Business subjects.

Trip Down Route 128 - This annual technology tour occurs in Boston every Spring break. Participants include students from the Club as well as non-JGSM graduate engineering and computer science students. During this four day trip students will engage with companies such as Lotus, Notel, Compaq, and IBM.
