As the Class of 2000 prepares for graduation, we would like to recognize those class members that preceded us as the Cornell Business Editorial Board. The 1999-2000 Board’s enthusiasm, professionalism, and hard work consistently resulted in a high-quality publication that served the Johnson School community well. We thank you all for a job well done.

We would particularly like to recognize Christian Rockwell for his solid leadership as Editor-in-Chief. In addition to serving as Editor-in-Chief, he personally sold the advertising that kept Cornell Business in business. After finishing his tenure, he helped ensure a smooth transition as the new board learned the tricks of the trade, and continued to contribute articles on a regular basis. As editor, Christian was particularly passionate about working towards an on-line presence for Cornell Business. He worked closely with Technology Editor Stew Whitman to identify costs and benefits of various on-line options. Over the past few months, the two continued in these efforts to turn this dream into reality with this week’s release of cornellbusiness.com.

Christian’s editorial efforts were backed by solid financial management and positive cash flows under the leadership of publisher Brandon Pemberton. Megan Nightingale ensured high professional standards, Warren Mobley kept us amused by recounting the ridiculous exploits of our peer schools, while Jeannette Koger kept us aware of the latest happenings in and around Ithaca. In addition to the expertise that Stew Whitman contributed towards the launch of cornellbusiness.com, he kept us up-to-date on the latest technology changes at the school—a difficult task. Craig Edelman, Megan Heuer, and Matt Azzara maintained reports of the Johnson community's latest events, lectures, thoughts and quibbles. Joe (who was that masked man?) Henwood provided everything from circulation services to food to articles to humor. Finally, Lee Shufro was more than a mere Sports Editor. One might even say that Lee was the soul of Cornell Business. His never-ending enthusiasm, support, and guidance continue to impress us, right through to his grand finale contribution, this year’s “Johnsonite of the Year” cover article on Professor Hal Bierman.

In recognition of their outstanding contributions to Cornell Business and the Johnson School, we recognize the 1999-2000 Editorial Board as Editors Emeriti.
