It doesn’t take long after being confined to Sage Hall for hours each day to become hungry for something new – food that is. Fortunately, a vast selection of nearly round-the-clock dining opportunities await in Collegetown, just a five-minute walk away. Below is an ample, though certainly not exhaustive, list highlighting some of the best Collegetown has to offer.

Collegetown Bagels – 415 College Avenue, open daily until 2am
One of the only restaurants with outdoor seating, Collegetown Bagels features almost every kind of sandwich on almost every kind of bagel. It’s ideal for a quick breakfast (espresso beverages are available) as well as late night munching. The cookies and baked goods are wonderful. Be sure not to miss the cheesecake brownies; they are hands down the world’s best.

Stella’s – 403 College Avenue, open daily until 1:30am (dinner served until 12:30am)
Widely known for its traditional and eclectic martinis, Stella’s features an intriguing selection of food from salads and sandwiches, to “Swanks” and “Splatters,” (a.k.a. “entrees” and “platters”). While prices aren’t cheap – dinner salads such as the signature “Martha Stuart on Crack,” an inspired combination of mixed greens, artichoke hearts, red peppers, corn, melon and veggies in a mango vinaigrette, go for $8.95 – Stella’s menu merits as much exploration as the libations. If early mornings are more your style, the adjacent cafĂ©, open from 7am, features a plethora of creative espresso drinks.

Aladdin’s – 100 Dryden Avenue, open weekdays until 10:30pm, weekends until 11pm
If you want a great salad but don’t want to pay a lot for it, head to Aladdin’s. Over ten ample-sized salads are offered; all are under $6.00. Aladdin’s extensive menu also includes soups, Greek specialties, pastas and a selection of desserts. One of the only other restaurants with outdoor seating, Aladdin’s is a great place to go during Ithaca’s few remaining warm days.
