Elections for the Student Faculty Committee will be held on the week of November 5. The SFC will launch the election week with candidate speeches on Monday night. From immediately after the speeches until the following Saturday morning the Johnson School community members will be able to cast their votes through on-line and in-person voting. On Sunday, candidates and then the student body will be notified of the results.
Thirty-two first-year students turned in petitions last week to compete for twelve open spots on the SFC. The twelve winners will join two twelve-month-option students elected by the TMO class over the summer. Platform for the new candidates are included below.
According to SFC election administrator Ron Phelan, the organization is targeting a 70% overall voter turnout and a 90% turnout among first-years. The on-line voting option is a new addition to the process this year. For more information, contact Phelan at rsp23@cornell.edu or visit the SFC website at .

As an SFC member, I will be committed to the following issues:
1. Fostering a sense of personal safety - Services to increase our personal safety exist, but I want to make them MORE accessible to the Johnson School given our existing heavy and hectic schedules. I want to bring these services to the Johnson School (e.g. personalized self-defense classes), not have us seek them out in other parts of the University.
2. Boosting the brand of the Johnson School - Beyond the fact that the Johnson School students are going “Fast, Forward”, I want to find ways to promote to the outside world that the Johnson School is indeed a “community”, focused on success for ourselves and our fellow colleagues. This is what I believe will be a great differentiator for us amongst the top business schools in the country.
