On April 27, 2001, the Johnson School's High Tech Club will host its annual Technology Symposium. This event is the Johnson School's showcase technology event of the year, bringing students and leading technology industry executives together for a daylong exploration into contemporary issues shaping business. The Technology Symposium has a dual purpose: to enhance our technology curriculum and to provide an opportunity for high tech companies to get visibility with our students. This is an excellent opportunity for technology companies to provide executive speakers as keynotes, for panelists to engage in current topics in technology, and to have discussions with students interested in careers in this field.
More than a speaker series, the Technology Symposium presents a forum for conversation on the most pressing issues in current technology. The Symposium traditionally begins and concludes with major keynote addresses. In between, concurrent panel sessions provide an opportunity for students and executives to engage one another in a lively exchange of ideas. The event also features a catered luncheon and a reception allowing students, faculty, and executives to interact more informally.
A Contemporary Exploration
The theme of Technology Symposium is different each year, reflecting the rapid pace of change of the industry itself. The 2001 event theme will be “Leadership in the Technology Marketplace.” Spanning a broad range of industry sectors, it will feature executives of leading technology businesses talking about how competitive edge is gained and maintained in the fast changing world of technology. T.J. Rodgers, founder, president and CEO of Cypress Semiconductor, will be honored as a Park Leadership Speaker and will deliver the opening keynote address on April 26th
