The Black Graduate Business Association (BGBA) has a powerful new vision and renewed commitment to becoming an active player in Johnson's Drive for Five. We have revived the club and we would like the JGSM community to become an active participant in this process.

Vision:
We have redefined our focus. Our new vision is to facilitate the personal and professional development of students of African descent at the Johnson School. To reflect this change, and to more accurately portray the ethnic composition of our current membership, we have changed the name of the organization from the Minority Graduate Business Association to the Black Graduate Business Association.

Marketing Efforts:
We have launched our new website. Learn more about our organization by visiting us at: http://www.johnson.cornell.edu/students/clubs/bgba/.
If you have not already seen our new logo on BGBA promotional items during the club fair at Destination Johnson, be sure to look for it on the website. We now abide by the motto “Building Bonds, Breaking Down Barriers”.

Speaker Series:
Look out for the re-launch of our speaker series in fall. We are currently planning an event to strengthen alumni participation and look forward to your support.

Recruitment of Minorities:
We have been working closely with Angela Noble in her effort to recruit qualified minorities to the Johnson School. We were actively involved in Destination Johnson, making every effort to personally contact and support prospective minority students. We will also be actively involved in "Johnson Means Business".

How can you become involved?
· We look forward to working with other clubs in our Speaker Series and our efforts to recruit minorities.
· You can chat with us on our discussion board (accessible through our website), to share your thoughts on diversity at JGSM.
· You can work with us to increase the BGBA’s involvement in activities at JGSM.

The BGBA currently seeks to strengthen its collective resource as a group, so that diversity can be integrated and accretive at the Johnson School. With open hearts and open minds we set forth in our journey.
